Why use VICON Method within my Therapy?

I am a child therapist, speech therapist, speech therapist, psychologist... Why use the VICON Method in my sessions? How does this tool benefit my practice and the evolution of my patients?
We begin with a set of articles to learn how we implement the Method with our professionals, as a therapeutic tool within the session and with our families, in the same direction oriented to child and adolescent treatment in the psychological and pedagogical field and early care.
The VICON Method has also been designed as a tool for professional use. A tool that is introduced into the family environment causing several changes:
- Enhances our sessions: the constant stimulation that the method produces between sessions makes our sessions enriched with new therapeutic challenges to attend to. A child with progress indicators is a child who requires a lot of monitoring in the generalization of live learning and that is an undeniable professional task.
- It involves the family: applying the method within the family environment means that we have an active family, participating in the process of their child, our patient, and that power is of utmost importance at a professional level. The method teaches small dynamics to the family that are easily reproducible and generalizable by the family in a framework of success and security that helps family commitment.
- A motivating tool in the session: introducing the same dynamic at home, in the classroom and in the session multiplies the interdisciplinary work, giving great richness to this learning and each of the people involved in it enhances it from their very specific and complementary role. the establishment of this learning, making it meaningful and generalized to the child's most important environments.
- Consolidates the Team: All this transversal work makes the dynamics between its protagonists stronger, being able to establish better and more strengthened communication in order to enhance, with everyone's resources, alignment of objectives, techniques, resources... providing capacity to each one of the parts. It can be compared to when in the classrooms we let our students come in pajamas on a carnival day, or they can bring their favorite toy after Christmas... the impact it has on an emotional and social level on the child is of utmost importance and increases motivation in all these important moments for the child: at home, in the session and in the classroom.
