Eater child profile: Does my child eat everything?

First of all, in relation to the previous publication , we have to know what profile of a dining child we have... Does the child eat? Do you eat some things? Eat fruits and vegetables? Does the solid still resist you?
In this way, we are going to start by understanding what type of profile we are referring to when we say that it is a “dining room child.”
Dining room child profile:
Here we have the starting point and we will ask ourselves what predisposition our child has regarding these foods. Let me explain, like all people, we have a behavior when it comes to eating and it is often determined by food preference, time, space ... There are children who spread out in the living room and eat better in the kitchen... or even the person I share this food with; There are links that enhance disruptive behaviors and others that balance them.
In our case, these aspects are very important to be able to carry out a strategy for implementing the objectives at the level of food, behavior and assignment of tasks and times. Many times we have children who find it difficult to eat breakfast, others, it is the time of day they enjoy the most, other types of children are snack lovers, or even they really enjoy dinner because they are already tired and their activity decreases...
Therefore, we have to determine what type of eating profile our child has. Children who are constantly hungry, seekers of food but who do not really eat when they sit at the table, or who never seem to eat, children who prefer sweet things, others who prefer salty things, children who are autonomous and even pick up food, children who prefer cold foods or love very hot food.
These are aspects that we have to stop and reflect on in order to be effective in this not simple task of making an impact and evolution in the nutrition of our children. In short... you have to analyze aspects such as temperature, texture, mixed foods ... Choose the right time , take advantage of the time of day when your child is most willing to try a new food.
Our advice is to always offer food when they are hungry: if it is offered once they have already eaten, they may be satiated and reject it, so assess the ideal time, when they are most hungry.
Promote this Family Routine.
To do this, you have to prepare the intervention. Well, it is important to analyze the aspects of family routine , on the one hand we will detail what meals you eat at home in a normal week, and on the other hand, who is the person in charge of both carrying out those meals and preparing them.
It is very important to choose the right person to carry out the intervention and for that person to be responsible and the only person to intervene in the first rehearsals and, if possible, to be the only person present.
A very useful resource can be to record the first interventions to later view them and be able to take notes about what has happened, to carry out an analysis and the changes in our program, which will help us share these progress with the child and with all the people involved and with whom this process will have to be generalized later.
It is essential to prepare psychologically for this intervention, go step by step, all the tips that I will give you today are not to be done all at once, be restrained, look for your viable challenges, feel super objectives and measuring what you can achieve today, tomorrow or this week. You cannot allow yourself to experience something as beautiful as the first years of a child's life as suffering because of these behavioral problems with food. The mountain seems steeper every day and many parents forget to enjoy themselves with their children because of issues like this. , and it is the most important aspect.
It is essential to accompany you through the process safely but with utmost peace of mind . The key is to stay calm and respect their times.
Teaching by example is vital.
Parents are models for our children in everything, including food. You cannot expect a child to eat fruit if he sees that his parents never eat it. Eating with him and setting an example is always very important. If your child sees you chewing and eating, he or she is probably curious and wants to try what you eat.
Let's put order. Let's start with a FOOD LIST .
We will have to prepare a list of foods so that we know what the child eats, with the details of whether it is crushed or solid , if there are any allergies or intolerances to take into account on the menu.
It is very important that we divide these foods into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks that represent what we know to snack on between meals. And the division will also be related to foods that you like , foods that you don't like and foods that you don't like at all . It is very important that this gives us a history of what we have already tried, of what we have surely discovered in our attempts to carry out this step, to carry out this objective at other times in the past. And finally, and keeping in mind these lists from the past and present, make a list of the possible foods to introduce.
We will tell you more in the next blog posts… We invite you to continue with us.
