You are a good mother.

An Australian mother had a brief conversation with a child psychologist that turned into a wonderful lesson in motherhood. The psychologist's response

left its mark:

«A couple of weeks ago a child therapist looked at my children and told me... "You are a good mother." Feeling like a total fraud, I said, “I don't feel like a good mom. The kids are driving me crazy, I'm losing my patience and I fall asleep at night wondering where I'm going to find patience for another day. To which she responded with a statement that I have not been able to forget, «Babies cry, it's how they communicate. Little children protest, and teenagers complain. Then the moms say the words “fuck shit” on their breath before each response. It's how we communicate? But guess what Constance? It's better than silence. A house full of screaming kids and fighting teenagers and parents who talk back is healthy for me. It is the silent children, the fearful children, the teenagers who do not come home, and the parents who are not in communication with their children that worry me. And children don't drive you crazy, you were already crazy. That's why you had them. And just like that, I felt like a good mother again.

Mothers of the world!! Take a deep breath, you're doing a good job.
