How do we develop language in children with autism in the VICON Method?

The most important thing in our Stimulation Program is the pursuit of learning that allows the child to evolve as autonomously as possible and, one of them, and perhaps the main one to generate language, is the skill of Imitation.
To achieve this ability we must have 4 essential processes :
- MOTIVATION: it is very important that the medium is attractive, that it moves the child towards it, we connect with their emotion, because if there are no emotions there is no learning, so for this we choose Music as the main protagonist.
- ATTENTION: once the motivational process is present, we develop attention as an active learning process through which information processing begins. An essential process that, with practice, becomes generalized and strengthened and becomes automatic.
- MEMORY: it is very important that the development of memory is present because it is what will allow us to “generalize learning and make it spontaneous and functional on a daily basis.” Memory goes from being implicit and recognition (1) (unconscious) to short-term memory (2) progressing to anticipation memory (3) beginning of learning and which will lead us to long-term memory (4) This is when it appears when language begins to emerge and we will reach conscious memory (5).
- IMITATION: These processes are not independent but develop in parallel to generate social learning and it is from here that with a good base of imitation we will develop communication and language in a solid way.
FIRST LOOK…
THEN THEY DEVELOP LEARNING BY IMITATION AND…
FINALLY… THEY TALK.
